GMR Partner Matt Moroney obtained a defense verdict in a Bergen County, New Jersey trial following a $600,000 arbitration award, which was appealed in favor of a jury trial. The plaintiff claimed extensive injuries from a rear-end accident caused by a dump truck, which caused him to undergo a laminectomy and discectomy at L5-S1 and elbow and wrist surgeries. At trial, the plaintiff also sought $168,000 for unpaid medical bills and $760,000 in future medical expenses as per the life care plan expert. The jury deliberated for about 25 minutes before issuing a defense verdict.
