Partner and Chief Information Security Officer, Eamon Merrigan’s distinguished career as a trial attorney at Goldberg, Miller & Rubin is virtually unmatched throughout the region. For nearly two decades, he has practiced diligently in the defense of a broad range of exposures including many catastrophic loss and death cases. His experience includes, but is not limited to, premises liability, automotive negligence, intentional tort, products liability, medical malpractice, cyber security defense, employment law, construction accident and complex subrogation claims. Eamon also defends some of the Country’s top insurance carriers against uninsured and underinsured motorist claims and regularly advises insurance companies on coverage issues. He is recognized for approaching complex matters with a common sense that aids in his ability to achieve the results that his clients have come to expect, and has been called upon to by his clients prior to suit to assist in the investigation and evaluation of complex losses.
Eamon has remarkably obtained over 65 defense verdicts in jury trials throughout his tenure, many of which involved pre-trial settlement demands of over seven figures. He has also achieved positive outcomes in hundreds of other matters that prove that he knows how to defend his clients in the most favorable manner possible. Local and national legal publications frequently report on his notable verdicts. He has been recognized as an Attorney of the Year by Corporate Vision Magazine and USA Today. Eamon’s vast trial experience has given him valuable insight into jurors’ mindsets and behaviors that greatly contributes to his overall success at all stages of a litigation.
Eamon also represents regional and national retail chains in many of their general liability disputes and has managed to perform superior work in an extremely cost-effective manner while managing their accounts.
Eamon actively practices law throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. His clients frequently request that he be temporarily admitted in other jurisdictions to represent their interests. Eamon also works at the appellate level and is a sought-after speaker on various civil litigation topics, especially strategy and evidentiary issues. He also serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas frequently assisting parties reach amicable resolutions in matters that he is not directly involved in.
When he isn’t practicing law, Eamon enjoys spending time with his family, as well as, reading, exercising, and coaching youth basketball. He has a keen interest in pop culture, formerly managed music artists, and ran the vinyl arm of an independent record label.
