Kara Brownlie is an associate at Goldberg, Miller & Rubin’s Philadelphia office. Her primary focus is motor vehicle defense.
Prior to joining the firm, Kara gained valuable experience as a paralegal at a boutique business and intellectual property law firm in Warrington, Pennsylvania. This role equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape and honed her analytical and problem-solving skills.
Kara earned her J.D. from Penn State Law at the Pennsylvania State University – University Park in 2024. During law school, she served as a clinical student in the Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic, directly representing startup and early-stage business clients. This hands-on experience helped her develop meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills, enabling her to advocate zealously for her clients’ best interests.
Her educational background also includes a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, with a concentration in legal studies, which she obtained from Cedar Crest College in 2021, graduating summa cum laude. While at Cedar Crest, Kara was a member of the women’s soccer team, showcasing her dedication and teamwork.
Outside of her professional life, Kara enjoys spending time with friends and engaging in outdoor sports, including soccer and pickleball. She also has a passion for photography, which she enjoys in her free time.

Kara Brownlie is an Associate at GMR. She started at the firm in September after earning her J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law and has already successfully argued her first motion for summary judgment. Here is more about Kara:

This holiday season, GMR’s Women’s Initiative supported The Jared Box Project, to help bring joy to children in need. A Jared Box is a plastic, shoe-sized storage box filled with small gifts, toys, games, coloring books, and fun activities, all tailored to a specific age group and gender. These thoughtfully packed boxes are donated to children in hospitals to offer a much-needed diversion and brighten their spirits.
GMR was able to come together as a firm and create 112 boxes which were donated to Cooper Pediatric Care at Camden Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, spreading holiday cheer to children in these facilities.
