Peter Murano concentrates his practice on the defense and litigation of general liability civil actions and workers’ compensation claims on behalf of self-insured businesses, third-party administrators and insurance companies, at both the trial and appellate levels, in state and federal courts throughout New Jersey and the entire New York metropolitan area.  He has handled multitudes of cases, including premises liability, products liability, motor vehicle, contract, jurisdiction and cases alleging negligence or intentional tort liability, from filing through resolution.

Peter earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2008, immediately following a 13-year career as a biomedical literature search analyst at a litigation support firm in New York City.  Following his law school graduation, Peter served a one-year term as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Garry J. Furnari in the Essex County Superior Court in New Jersey.

Prior to joining GMR, Peter worked for 14 years in a prominent insurance defense law firm in New Jersey.  His background in biomedical engineering, established in his B.S. degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, aided Peter in remaining conversant in technical, scientific and medical issues which arise in his diverse caseload.

Outside of his legal practice, Peter enjoys spending time with his loving and supportive wife and their three children. The family makes their home in Rockland County, New York, and frequently escapes to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where they enjoy time together and the opportunity to recharge. Peter is also an avid sports fan and enjoys attending live sporting events whenever possible.
