Matthew Moroney secured a defense verdict at trial in a lawsuit brought against an insurance carrier. In the underlying claim, the plaintiff settled her claim against the tortfeasor and then sued the auto insurance carrier seeking underinsured motorist benefits pursuant to her insurance policy. At trial, however, the jury found that the plaintiff’s injuries and limitations did not overcome the limited tort threshold. The trial judge, the Honorable Joseph Papalini, therefore, entered a defense verdict in favor of the insurance firm.
