Spearheaded by Chief Executive Officer and Partner, Lori Miller, Goldberg, Miller & Rubin’s Women’s Initiative was founded to provide support and foster the careers of the female attorneys in the firm. The Initiative includes a mentoring program, educational events and social meetings to help identify and resolve issues that are unique to female attorneys and aid in the balancing of the female attorneys personal and professional lives. This empowering group thrives on providing a firm environment where women feel encouraged and valued in the field of law.
This year, the Women’s Initiative branched out to work with various community organizations. One of GMR’s proudest partnerships is with Women of Tomorrow®, a national organization that engages highly accomplished professional women to mentor “at-risk” high school students from grades 9-12, in small group settings. The Philadelphia chapter of Women of Tomorrow® launched in 2014 and now serves 420 disadvantaged girls at 20 local public high schools. Lori Miller joined Women of Tomorrow as a mentor 2018. Together with the women of GMR, each month she meets with a select group of local high school girls to discuss future educational opportunities, college selection and preparation, potential career paths, interviewing techniques, social media in education and the workforce, and tips for self-motivation.
