The Women’s Initiative at Goldberg, Miller & Rubin was founded to foster the careers of the women attorneys in the firm and to provide support throughout the various stages of their professional life. GMR has historically strived to maintain a working environment that recruits and promotes women attorneys which is exemplified in the overwhelming presence of women attorneys in the firm. The Women’s Initiative at GMR was spearheaded by CEO, Lori Miller, and is co-chaired by Kara Brownlie, Elizabeth Cooney, and Jillian Seay. GMR is committed to the retention and advancement of women attorneys and aims to create an environment where women are provided opportunities to hold significant leadership positions both in the firm and the outside legal community. Women at GMR serve as practice leaders, office managing partners, firm partners and committee chairs. In keeping with the Initiative’s core values, GMR supports our women through all stages of their lives including marriage, child rearing, and parent care, so women can continue to develop and advance in their careers at GMR. The Women’s Initiative has worked with various community organizations including the Women of Tomorrow®, a national organization that engages highly accomplished professional women to mentor “at-risk” high school students from grades 9-12. This year, the Initiative will partner with Philadelphia Law Schools to serve as mentors in the Schools’ Women’s Law Caucuses. The Initiative regularly hosts and attends events such as, The Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel Women in the Law events, women’s continuing legal education courses, networking and mentoring events and social meetings and happy hours. |
