Dana Koos is GMR’s New York Managing Partner. She has been with the firm for over 10 years and is a rock star when it comes to training and mentoring others. Over the course of her career, Dana has developed countless attorneys and staff members. She is a vital piece to GMR’s success. Here’s more about Dana:
“I began college as a theater major with a dream of wanting to be in musicals on Broadway. As time went on the idea of law school started becoming more appealing than the drudgery of trying to make it in the showbiz world. My parents kept telling me that I could bring my acting skills to the courtroom. When you think about it, there is not much difference between being an actor and a lawyer; you are both putting on a show. I have yet to start singing in the courtroom but hey… you never know… maybe it will be on that last day of trial … one day… right before I announce my retirement.
My advice for others, especially if they are not sure where they are going is to find what you love and try and implement that into your career.
As I sit and think about where I am in life, I am very proud of my accomplishments with respect to my career. Hard work pays off. After 20 years of practice, one of my favorite parts of my job is mentoring new attorneys and watching them succeed; their success in turn is mine.”
