The plaintiff alleged that his demotion violated procedural due process under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and the Fourteenth Amendment.

The federal court rejected the plaintiff’s claims and dismissed the complaint in its entirety, holding that the plaintiff received constitutionally sufficient notice and an opportunity to be heard before his demotion. The court found that the plaintiff was provided notice of the allegations, a Loudermill hearing, and a subsequent hearing before the school board, both with counsel present.
