GMR Partner Warren Holland obtained a defense verdict following a jury trial in Rockland County, New York, in a case involving an alleged slip-and-fall on the defendants’ residential property.
The plaintiff claimed that he sustained serious injuries while delivering food to the defendants’ home after allegedly slipping on icy conditions in the driveway. The defendants did not learn of the alleged incident until several months later. They maintained that they routinely shoveled and salted the driveway during the winter and disputed the plaintiff’s contention that the driveway was in a dangerous condition.
After hearing the evidence, the jury found in favor of Warren’s clients, finding that they were not negligent.
