GMR Partner Matt Moroney won three out of his first three New York trials this year. He tried the cases in three different counties: Kings County (Brooklyn), Bronx County, and Westchester County.
In the Westchester County case, his client admitted liability for causing the car accident, and Matt defended the case on the issue of damages. After the car accident, the plaintiff treated extensively, underwent a cervical fusion surgery, and sought in excess of $500,000 in damages.
The jury, however, found that the surgery was unrelated to the accident and determined that the plaintiff did not sustain any serious injury from the accident, and the jury entered a defense verdict.
