GMR assisted with the successful prosecution of a lawsuit against an insurance carrier and employer on behalf of a widow who was wrongfully denied life insurance benefits after her spouse’s unexpected death. The life insurance policy was part of the spouse’s employment compensation.
After nearly two years of litigation, the defendants agreed to settle the lawsuit for an amount in excess of the life insurance policy. GMR Partner Matt Moroney, GMR Attorney Niki Desai, and Attorney Joe Guzzardo, who is of counsel, represented the aggrieved widow.
